From 23 Jan to 27 Jan I’m attending the ALA midminter convention in Denver in the United States.
I am staying at Keystone in the high country and the commute down to Denver, given the snow this week, is always a challenge. On the other hand, a good number of publishing and new media people are stuck on the slopes with me. We end up getting just about as much business done on the slopes in in traveling to Denver as in Denver itself. In addition, on Sunday I made a runs to Denver to pick up a group library and publishing execs for some night skiing. Good business and good fun!
The ALA exhibits are very interesting — more about the exhibits and other matters later this week. One thing that I’m very impressed with is the American emphasis on youth literature!
I was also proud to see LernerMedia’s Infectious Diseases: In Context (a Gale | Cengage Learning book) on display with its Outstanding Academic Title seal on the cover!
